A Dedicated Leader with a Proven Record

Dr. Assad's journey of public service began when she was just a teenager. She grew up in a family that struggled financially, and as a result, she had to work multiple jobs to support herself while also going to school. Despite the challenges she faced, Dr. Assad was determined to succeed and to give back to her community.

After finishing high school, Dr. Assad pursued a career in nursing, which allowed her to help people more directly. She worked in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and government offices, and quickly became known for her compassion and dedication to her clients.

As she gained more experience in the healthcare field, Dr. Assad realized that many of the health issues she was seeing in her patients were related to broader social and economic factors. This led her to pursue additional education and certifications in fields such as healthcare administration and community outreach. With her new skills and knowledge, Dr. Assad began to work in positions such as a Constituent Service Representative, Administrative Assistant, Manager, Job Coach, and Community Liaison. She also started volunteering with organizations such as the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Of Lauderhill, the Lauderhill Police Department, and the Lauderhill Fire Rescue CERT Team. Through her work and volunteer experiences, Dr. Assad saw firsthand the challenges that people from different backgrounds were facing, including poverty, lack of access to education and healthcare, and discrimination. She knew that she had to do something to help bridge the gap between cultures and other diverse factors. So, Dr. Assad founded two organizations, Mpaktful Touch Community Center and Paint to Impact, which focused on providing community assistance to those in need, including food distribution, school supplies giveaways and health fair events.

She also worked with organizations such as FLIC to coordinate citizenship drives and translate for those in need. Dr. Assad's thousands of hours of community service are a reflection of her deep understanding of the struggles that people face, as she has experienced them herself. She has dedicated her life to helping others so they don't experience the same struggles she faced. Her dedication and commitment to the community have earned her numerous awards and recognitions for her work in mental health, community service, and leadership. While Dr. Assad is grateful for the following recognitions, she knows that her work is far from over.
