Dr Nadia Assad

Dr. Assad Nadia

I have a true passion and history of service to my community, and my career and life have centered around public service. I bridge the gap between cultures and other diverse factors by focusing on common dreams of the community such as improved education, increased economic growth, and an overall improvement in our environment. These dreams are interwoven throughout my personal and professional life.

I attended Miami-Dade College, Rock-Hurst University Broward College, and Liberty University. I hold degrees in Nursing and Healthcare Administration. Additionally, I hold certifications in Business Management, Cultural Diversity, Community Relations and Education, Depression and Anxiety Treatment in youth, Mental Health Ambassador, Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Practitioner and a Doctorate in Counseling.

I have served as a Health care Administrator for several Mental Health Institutions, as a Constituent Service Representative for the City of North Miami Mayor and Council Office, as an Administrative Assistant with the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department, as Manager for the Clinical and Forensic Institute, and currently serves as a Job Coach and Community Liaison for the Broward County School District.

As a business owner, I am also actively involved in the business and economic interests of the community. After working for the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce for two years, I was asked to serve on the Economic Development, Constituent Services, and Public Safety Committee. In this capacity, I connected with various stakeholders to collectively educate the community, and increase the economic growth and the overall safety of the community. In addition to my volunteerism, my ability to speak 3 other languages French, Spanish, and Creole has been a great asset in educating the community. I hosted and/or participated in several educational Radio shows, TV Shows, Podcasts, Workshops, and symposiums. The subject matters included Voter’s Education, Census, Mental Health Awareness, Family and Youth Empowerment, and Human Trafficking.

As a result of my passion for public service, I provided thousands of hours of community service and inspired others to do the same. Examples of my community service and engagement include, but are not limited to the following:
